This was the series many were looking forward to most — So. The start times? Series over. Missed it all. There was Jake Peavy vs.
Tough call, would you have watched that crucial playoff contest, or the Fox 5 Action News report about a new polar bear at the Bronx Zoo? Aside from inconvenience, the MLB playoff schedule completely diverts from regular season start times. Why, exactly, must the postseason so vastly differ from the norm — where day games during the week are exceedingly rare, and first pitches almost always occur after PM local time? You know, so working people can actually go to games without sacrificing a vacation day. It seems like, above any other priorities, MLB designed the schedule so that games do not overlap.
When there were four games scheduled, one began at noon, the next at 3PM, then PM, and then, finally, at God forbid you have two exciting games going at once. No one, save the superfan, is shirking work to catch a first-round playoff game. What, you want to stream a live MLB game at work?
Yeah, good luck with that. Maybe baseball should look at the NBA, whose first round of playoffs are probably the most entertaining and unpredictable in sports. Cheese or egg mayonnaise. We ordered our pot of tea and by the time the food came out this was luke warm. The teapot was dirty with a brown stain under the spout and please clean the inside of tea pot spouts!
The length of time waiting for the food was unacceptable. The hotel is under going refurbishment at last.

It is good to see as Risley Hall has the potential to be a stunning hotel. Please clean the brass curtain poles with metal polish in the Orangery, they are filthy and have been for a long time. We sat in the conservatory with it's new luxury seating and tables. There is not a lot of room for manoeuvre, could do with at least one table with chairs taking out. The tables are glass topped and dried cloth smears are visible. There was dropped food under our table which made the floor very slippy.
When the waitress bought our plates she noticed When the waitress bought our plates she noticed a mark on one and continued to wipe the mark with her finger, then gave the plate to my friend. Very hygenic! I am sorry that I have had to write this but I am so disappointed by my experience of afternoon tea at Risley Hall.
It is far too expensive for what you get and doesn't compete well with other places. Bring the price down and attract the custom, which could lead to further bookings for other things the hotel and spa have to offer. Lovely old building with lots of character very clean and friendly staff.doomslipardi.ml
Some Odd Afternoon by Sally Ashton Book Preview
Booked through red letter days was easy to use vouchers. It was a birthday break and the housekeeping staff left a lovely note and gift in the room. We ate in the restaurant the food was excellent and not over priced. Spent the afternoon in the spar changing rooms and facilities basic but clean had a lovely massage overal a lovely break. Stayed one night here for a suprize anniversery gilf for my wife.
It looks ideal in rural Derbyshire but needs a bit of TLC. First impressions as you walk in through the front garden entrance was both lamps not working and one lying on the floor i nearly righted it. Allowed to check into our room early which was good too. It had that rustic charm of an old country house which you then make allowances for some mis-derminus. On-suite was ugly and not very clean with dubious stains on the toilet floor and black growth?
Odd even scheme: No chaos, few odd cars on Delhi roads
Looks like Mr Magoo did the tileing i have never seen so much cover up grout. Spa is outside and not very clear how to get there you seem to walk through a residendcial part of the village. Staff look massively demotivated apart from the spa attendant who still seemed to care. In fact she told us the hotel and spa is between owners which really showed. Verdict - Try the Holiday Inn up the road. Went here for a romantic weekend, so, we hoped to have a nice hotel, nice surroundings, good service Positives: - Property has real potential - nice atmosphere.
Negatives: - On arrival, reception area is a dump. Tempted to do it myself. Almost a chippy menu.
We wanted Venison but it had sold out by - what's that about? Menu bereft of choice. Cash is more useful methinks. We expected some kind of half board meal package - errr no. Asked what the country pate was - "Country" was the reply - then I got it instead of the soup i ordered. No ice for our chilled white wine. Lots of customers tho so they are doing something right. Paint pot? No chance. Then we had screaming unsupervised kid taking over the place - so much for romance Curmudgeon me.
Reactive Hypoglycemia or Afternoon Slump?
Throughout the place we had the impression they were saving a fiver on everything with no overall sense of creating a pleasant place to stay. A shame but their choice obviously. Cud be so much better with a little thought. Suspect they are waiting for wedding season..
Stayed in one of the suites here for a wedding reception and was quite disappointed in the place considering the cost of the rooms. Obviously the buildings are old and that is the very charm of the place, and from what I understand there are renovations underway which will hopefully address many of the issues so I can forgive to some extent the run down state of the rooms we stayed in and don't want to dwell on that too much here. However I have to say that many of room issues we encountered could have been quickly fixed by a handyman in the meantime.
